Day One

Is knowing what I’m doing a requirement of “blogging”? Because I certainly am blind about this. But here goes nothing…

Day One… Adam and Eve. Day One OF Adam and Eve. Not, of course, Day One is God’s book. God, being infinite… always has been, always will be… had been on the scene much longer than Day One. It was actually Day Seven of God’s doings when He brought Adam, and then Eve, into the picture. But God was long, long before that as well. Infinite-ism is such a strange idea to us. So strange, in fact, it’s best left to God.

So… Day One. For Adam and Eve, that is. We would presume Day One was a 24 hour period, but given that, to God, a day is as a thousand years, there’s no true way to know the amount of time in hours. But I certainly do wonder what that first Day was like. The wonder of being born and fully grown. Were they created hungry? Or did they explore the Garden and work up an appetite? I’m sure they laughed at the bobbly things on each other’s bodies that jiggled as they walked.

I wonder, how long did it take Satan to begin tempting them. Reading Moses’ account of the story makes it sound like it all took place within Day One. DAY ONE! Already messed up the rest of eternity! Sin would always be a part of a human’s life. But praise God, Who is the Great I AM, He provided a way for us to be released from the deadly grip of Day One. Even before Adam and Eve sinned, He knew. He prepared for it. Jesus. Our Redeemer. The Apostle John wrote, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

Regardless of the days of your life, regardless of the sin in your life, that verse is for you. Never let yourself believe you are above the need of a Savior, or that you are too far gone in your sin for a Savior. Jesus is always waiting to give you Day One.

This is the message I hope to relay in this Blog. Hopefully I can figure out how.
